Modeling the Response of NiTi Endodontic Files Subjected to Cyclic Non‐proportional Loading

Nickel-Titanium (NiTi) endodontic files have emerged as valuable tools for root canal treatment due to their high strength and flexibility. During treatment, the are rotated in bent configuration of canal, which leads cyclic non-proportional loading. With goal understanding mechanical response NiTi allow an enhanced design these structures, a constitutive model shape memory alloys is developed. This incorporates several features present SMAs relevant including: transformation, reorientation, yield plasticity, functional fatigue, tension-compression asymmetry internal loops. The implemented Ansys using small strain formulation extended finite strains nonlinear geometry algorithm Ansys. Validation performed by simulating torsional experiment from literature simplified file geometry. Finally, applied simulate under rotation configuration. results illustrate that develops oscillation during course loading, directly associated with increase residual stresses. Furthermore, higher values martensite volume fraction stress.
